Der Metal Battle ist ein internationaler Wettbewerb, der seit 2004 Bands aus der ganzen Welt auf das Wacken Open Air bringt. Mit über 40 teilnehmenden Ländern fördert der Wettbewerb junge, unverbrauchte Metalbands und bietet ihnen eine Plattform, sich der globalen Metal-Community zu präsentieren. Von Kanada bis China treten lokale Bands gegeneinander an, um beim internationalen Finale des Wacken Open Air ihre Heimat zu vertreten. Das Highlight: Die Besten ihres Landes dürfen das größte Metalfestival der Welt rocken und erhalten die Möglichkeit, mit Produzent*innen, Manager*innen und Labels in Kontakt zu treten. Die Jury bewertet nicht nur die Performance, sondern auch die Authentizität und das Können der Bands. Mit den acht Halbfinals in diversen CH-Locations werden die Champions für das packende Finale in der Romandie ermittelt! Ein Halbfinale davon findet exklusiv hier bei uns im Estrich Winistorf statt! Ophelia’s Eye is a modern metal band from Switzerland, combining relentless heaviness with emotional depth. The current lineup has been playing together for over a year and a half, shaped by new energy, musical maturity, and a clear artistic vision.
With our second album Severance, we take a bold step forward: Thematically more daring, musically more diverse, and lyrically more intense than ever before.
Ophelia’s Eye explores the darkest corners of the human psyche, as well as social injustice and the growing sense of disorientation in a world on fire.
Our distinctive sound blends sharp-edged riffs, fast drums, and a vocal range that seamlessly moves between raw aggression and haunting clarity. Clean vocals have become an essential part of our sonic identity, alongside technical brutality and atmospheric depth.
The name Ophelia's Eye remains as a symbol of a vision that goes beyond what the eye can see.

Taoist (CH)

Taoist is a post-grunge-infused hardcore band from Zürich, Switzerland
founded in the Summer of 2024. What started as a fun side project by
Whiteout’s guitar player is slowly turning into something more.
While some prefer hard-hitting heavy riffs and breakdowns and others
prefer melodic post-grunge choruses, Taoist has decided to implement
both into their sound. Imagine Staind two-stepping in the pit while Creed is
wheelhouse-kicking the sh*t out of some teenagers. Well, that is what
Taoist stands for.
Taoist fully released their debut album “The Nature Of Wild Things” by the
end of Summer 2025. This album includes every kind of inspiration and
influence you might imagine.
The DIY spirit is very present, as the band writes, produces and releases
their material by themselves. 100% DIY.
Before the Decay (CH)

A mix between harsh screams and soft cleans paired with impressive instrumentals defines Before The Decay. The metalcore band from Switzerland is ever changing and evolving, but still staying true to their own writing style. With the release of their debut EP “Awakening” the five musicians laid the foundation for their style, always working to improve their musical craftsmanship and develop their music but also themself as persons. Drawing inspiration from current events and their personal experiences, the lyrics are equally profound as their musical style.
